It is very important to have fun when you take your trip to Zurich, whether it be for work or pleasure and you must not be continuously thinking about what you should or should not be doing or lounging around unsure in your Zurich hotel.

Instead, the tips below are meant only as a guide, for you to take some points from and others to leave entirely.

Carrying maps around looking bewildered, and stopping to look at monuments or buildings, obviously shows that you are from another town and may attract the bad type of interest.

So if you can, act a little more sure in your actions and if you are lost, be a good judge of people. For me, you can’t go too wrong with nice looking couples or more mature professionals. But still use caution.

Do NOT pull large quantities of cash out of your pocket. This will capture attention no matter what country you are in. It sounds so ridiculous, but it is astonishing how many people pull out a clump of cash to pay for some small item. I see it all the time in the Philippines, and it always shocks me. There have been times when even I was tempted to follow the guy but, relax knowing I didn’t do it.



Try to considerwhere you are going that day and carry enough cash for that and any unforeseen extras, plus a card. Leave the balance in your hotel safe, or don’t even bother to pull it from your ATM. The amount you take on the streets should take care of all your requirements only and will limit any losses if anything does happen.



Do NOT accept drinks from anybody that you have just became aquainted with, especially in dubious surroundings as you do not know if they could be laced with any type of mixture.



It is also not a good idea to carry your original passport with you when you are roaming around. Just bring a photocopy of it in case there is an inspection. Leave the original passport in a secure place in your hotel room. Also, it’s a good idea to scan all your travel documents and upload them to a web based email ahead of your trip.
